Event: Sorting Recyclables For A Good Cause
Description: Children's Therapy Center of the Quad Cities (CTCQC) is seeking volunteers to help sort plastic and aluminum beverage containers in their downtown Rock Island sorting facility. This recycling program is one way CTCQC raises money to help provide therapy to kids in need. CTCQC works with local schools and businesses to collect their used plastic and aluminum beverage containers. The containers are sorted, by volunteers, into specific categories at the Rock Island facility. Some of the containers are redeemed for a cash refund. Others are delivered to the Commission's Scott Area Recycling Center for recycling. Because the containers are clean and pre-sorted, the Commission pays a portion of the sale of the commodity to CTCQC to support this recycling program and the overall mission of the CTCQC.
